Airsoft Hi-Cap 'arms race' hots up!

The race to get the largest capacity magazine on an AEG marches forward with the news of yet more multi-thousand round drum mags coming on the market. CheckSix Airsoft announced three new 3000 round uber-cappers on their store, for several different models of AEG.

The majority of new AEGs are now coming equipped with hi-cap magazines, which gets new players into the hi-cap habit right from the get start. One can only speculate that once a new player is introduced to the convenience - over realism - of hi-caps, it must be very hard for them to change 'down' to medium-caps (let alone low or 'real' caps).

As far as I can see, the only way to prevent  airsoft simply becoming a 'spray and pray' circus is for sites to offer special Milsim events, where 'real' and low-cap mags are the specified magazines for the day. Luckily, there are a few doing just that.

(Ironically, I myself have had to join in the hi-cap 'arms race', as my new CA SA58 only comes with hi-caps at this time. CA don't make any other mag for it yet!.)
