3 ultra-cool airsoft custom 'gunsmiths'

The niche custom airsoft workshop has been around a long time - airsoft geeks with a bit of DIY knowledge that end up selling their wares through word of mouth. But it is a testament to the maturing nature of airsoft as a sport or hobby or whatever it is that there are now some professional 'airsmiths' (?) out there now - and here are three of my favourites...

1. AZR Machine & Tool Company

Without doubt AZR is the king of airsoft wood stocks and fittings, but the story doesn't stop there. AZR also mill metal upgrade items for airsoft guns. Pinical among their products is their beautiful Thompson sub-machine-gun conversion kit.

Not only have AZR produced a set of luscious wood stock parts to convert the TM or CYMA M1 Thompson into the 1928 model 'Tommy Gun', but they have also created an aluminium receiver and finned barrel to complete the look.

2. X-Fire.org

Superb quality Japanese custom parts for a wide variety of TM AEGs, spring sniper rifles and pistols. Their website is a veritable treasure trove for the airsoft geek - with everything from replacement custom 1911 hammers to custom polished pistons. Everything for a wide variety of airsoft guns, inside and out.

3. PtoG4

Simply amazing practical pistol style 1911 upgrades. Real metal, stunning design and excellent craftsmanship make ProG4 pistol accessories and replacement parts the 'must have' items for the enthusiastic pistolero.

Their vented and ported slides add that touch of realism that turn your vanilla 1911 into a presentation grade collectable. Their accessories make your pistol into something akin to a cover shot from 'Guns & Ammo' magazine. These will definitely turn heads on the skirmish field.
