New 'Cz.75 model D' released by ASG
For those of us who like Eastern European or Russian loadouts there has been a long time drought in pistols available to us. But it looks like there is perhaps some good news on the ASG website. They online catalogue is showing a' new release' of a CZ.75 model D Compact in Gas and CO2 (and even spring!), including some nice looking accessories.
Details are otherwise sketchy, but whatever the composition this modern side arm replica of the legendary Czech pistol (real steel nomenclature CZ 75 P-01) it will make a lot of us 'Red' airsofters very happy indeed.

Got a rather nice email from 'Steel6' at Airsoft-news.eu, quote: "i have one on the test. Details are coming soon, replica itself is very very nice."
So hopefully we will see a review soon - fingers crossed as I really want this to be a good replica as it would complete my CQB loadout nicely.
Also, ASG have Mil6, Airsoft Armoury and Wolf Armoury down as their designated UK retailers - so I will be harassing them for a CZ75D as soon as they have one in stock!
While waiting to see which of the UK retailers will distribute the ASG CZ75D, some more news has cme to light.
First of all, the (kinda) bad news, the ASG CZ75D pistol is ABS and is not blow back. These are two features which airsoft pistol fans seem to take kind of forgranted as elements which make a good pistol. However, looking on the bright side this does mean the CZ75D will be a light pistol and there is less to go wrong.
Next, there is the rather interesting news that this pistol is now already available from Firesupport - but, only in the clear plastic form. Again, his has an up side - the pistol is £65 (add to that a can of black Krylon for £5 and you have a nice black ABS pistol for £70).

I have to admit I'm a little disappointed. The CZ75D is exactly the sort of pistol that airsofters who like to sim Russian/Eastern European forces have been waiting for, so that it comes in this form is a little bit of an anti-climax. The UK retailer 6Mil have told me that they do intend to stock the proper black plastic model in 2-3 weeks time, so that's some comfort.
But will the price be more for this version? And if so, will players be willing to spend about £70 on a plastic non-blowback pistol? I suppose it depends on just how much you really want a Czech pistol.
