Oi vay! It's an AK already! King Arms Galil SAR
There have been many, many versions of Mr. Kalashnikov's iconic infantry assault rifle through the years. Of course these have been predominantly produced by either the Soviet Union (latterly Russia) and it's satellite and client nations, but there have been a couple of exceptions.
Both Finland and Israel have manufactured very slightly modified copies of the AK-47 for use by their armed forces. The Fins produced their lovely Valmet Rk.62 (and variations thereof) and Israel came up with the Galil.
Hardened airsofters being what they are, they just love obscure or niche weapons so that they can impress their friends on the field. So, the Galil, something of an icon in itself, was bound to be on a great many players wish lists. In fact, as is usual in these cases, a couple of custom airsoft fabricators had already made Galil replicas.
Well, King Arms is developing something of a penchant, shall we say, for bringing into the mainstream weapons that were previously the exclusive pleasures of those airsofters with more money than sense! They did it with their Draganov, then came their L1A1 and now they have done it again with a wonderful replica AEG of the Galil SAR.
But good news doesn't stop there - King Arms have sweetened the pot considerably, first of all by securing rights to use the authentic Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) markings, and secondly they have devised a rather nifty recoiling cocking bolt system!
Altogether the KA Galil SAR is a very impressive looking package, and although it may be something of a heresy I think it's fair to say that many Kalashnikov fans may want to add this to their collection - after all, every family has it's black sheep!
