New airsoft AKs - the sublime and the ridiculous

Posted on Sun, January 11, 2009 by Registered CommenterMilgeek in | Comments2 Comments

This month's batch of new AKs goes from one extreme to the other. VFC announce their stunningly beautiful AKM replica, and to sort of counter-ballance that in a wierd 'quality karma' LCT have produced a 'AK Pistol'!

Thanks to Airsoft-News.EU for the heads-up on these.

That airsoft pistol looks a bit similiar to a spetsnaz without the rear stock. It isn't all that bad in my opinion. However the pistol grip looks terrible in the bottom left picture. Looks like the wrong shape and everything.

Hi Drezha... Yep, it's just another version of the Spetz/Beta format. I notice RSOV have been doing wooden furniture for the JG/CUMA/TM Spetz for a while, but I don't see the point as the whole idea behind the Spetz is to have a tactical/CQB AK.But it's very much a matter of taste.

The one new thing with the LCT version is the no-stock and sling loop on the rear of the receiver, very novel (although RMW does a very good quality kit that has this).

I can imagine the LCT will be great if you aren't too bothered about realism but want the ultimate CQB AK - I see it also has a sight plate on the side, nice if you want to install the recently announced cheapsoft Kobra sight!
