TM extended mag for CYMA Glock 18C

The 100 round Tokyo Marui extended magazine that I ordered to complement my CYMA Glock 18C AEP finally arrived. This completes my 'Assassin' CQB pistol pistol.

I was a little disappointed that the Tokyo Marui mag turned out to be plastic, as the original CYMA magazine is full metal and so balances out the pistol nicely. Obviously had this much larger mag been made of metal it may have been too much weight at the back of the pistol, causing it to be a little unwieldy.

Construction of the magazine is solid, although there is a tiny bit of wobble which I shall correct by padding the small gap between mag and gun with a sliver of plastic card. But the fit is good considering it's to different makes of airsoft manufacturer.

As to the benefits of the 100 rounds this mag will give me, it will make this pistol all the more effective as a CQB primary weapon (when the mood takes me). Obviously the CYMA AEP is an ideal winter back-up gun, but moreover it's reasonable range and power and full-auto option means that you can hold your own in short ranges even against AEGs.

In fact having a pistol back-up should be more than an after-thought (or fashion accessory), as in close range scenarios I personally feel that it is only 'polite' to switch to a lower powered pistol if you have one. Splattering an opponent in CQB situations with a full-power, high rate of fire AEG just isn't good sportsmanship.

I have shot enemy at close range with my AEG, and have likewise been shot with an AEG close up, and it's no fun. So if you have the time it's good form to switch to a pistol inside buildings (but it's a personal choice of course).

Price:
> TM Glock 18C extended magazine £21.50
> CYMA Glock 18C clone extended magazine £14.50

I also have the CYMA Glock 18c, It would be a wonderfull pistol even at none-HK prices, its light, durable (dropped it whilst running at speed a number of times) and more over looke the part and performs without duress. I short i like it!

I have had the 100rnd mag on my 'wants list' for some time but resisted it due to its length (pleae no jokes). On the flip side I have found using the 18c on 30rnd mags a ball ache in BUA as most people are quite happy to light you up at zero range on full auto to watch 'the piggy squeel'. Now this sounds like fun but as Ranger points out, is not and hurts like hell, so have been using it less and less, which is a real shame. Maybe the 100rnd mag is my way forward....hmm??

The big mistake people make is that you have to spray anyone in airsoft...

A three round burst or two is usually all that's needed to make the point (people may genuinely not recognize that a single hit is a hit - but 3 BBs usually gets their attention).

The usual excuse for spraying is 'because people cheat and won't take their hits I have to spray people to ensure they acknowledge they are hit'. But the fact is that if you get a cheat, it doesn't really matter how much you spray them, they likely won't acknowledge the hit - so why waste ammo?

If I come across a cheat who simply ducks away when hit, I just look to see if a marshal is present and check to see if they just saw what I saw. If not, I just shrug it off and move on...

I don't let cheats annoy me - and I certainly don't let them frustrate me to the point where I start spraying all and sundry. That's when tempers fray.

SO THE POINT IS...

If a few rounds that's all that's really needed, then 100 rounds will go a long way - hell, 20 rounds will go a long way in that situation!

I personally like changing lower capacity mags, it gives me a greater sense of excitement. But even in hi-cap games, as long as you conserve your fire for sure and certain targets, then your limited ammo will suffice.

Since I started airsoft my 'kills' have risen, but the amount of ammo I have used has dropped considerably.

I might get one of the cheapsoft ones as I've heard from a chap at my local site that the cheapsoft Glock mags can be filed to fit the cheapsoft USP which is what I have.

However, I've found the 30 round mags for the USP to be ample as I've only used it single shot. The scorpion however does benefit from a larger mag as those 50 rounds disappear quite quickly, even in short controlled bursts. If seems your using the glock like I use my Scorpion...CQB close auto support - Still some auto firing but at a lower FPS and easy enough to wield one handed still.

Hi,
Does the TM extended magazine really hold 100 rounds?
How does it work with the CYMA gun?

The CYMA ext.mag. is said to only hold about 60 (then the upper lips that hold the rounds in the mag start to bend)

Hop u can answer these qqq for me!
