I received my ACM copy of the Russian KOBRA EKP 1S-03 military red dot sight on Friday, and so having had a couple of days to play with my new toy I thought I'd jot down my thoughts.

Background
The Kobra red dot is perhaps the most recognized Russian military optical sight here in the West. It's appearance is often associated with more elite units, as optical sights - in general - are still not widely issued among the vast majority of Russian soldiers. Like most Russian military sights, the Kobra is designed to use the Kalashnikov side mounting plate by means of a integral mounting clamp. These side mounting plates are available on later AKM and all modern AK74 series assault rifles.

The airsoft replica
The news that ACM was to produce a replica of the Kobra sight was greeted with much excitement by those airsofters who like to re-create Russian themed kit loadouts. While there is a huge amount and variety of Western red dot sighting systems available to the airsofter, until ACM announcement their replica there was no Russian red dot available at all - unless you were able to afford a real Kobra sight (which would set you back anywhere between £150 to £200).

A bit of a change for Milgeek - I've done a pretty basic video, giving my thoughts on this product. So I will restrict my comments here to a simple summary of the ratings I give to the ACM Kobra. But I suggest you give the video a play first to understand how I came to my conclusions - but *still* thought it was a good purchase
