Having watched this a couple of times now - and the eagle eyed among you with have spotted this - it's not actually the guy's AK magazine that get's shot out (it's clearly i the AK a few seconds later)...
As a matter of fact, this guys had a much closer call than the narrator credits him, as the bit that flies off when hit is the AK's receiver cover (which rests right next to the soldiers face)!!!
