2508301596_fc798437b4_m.jpgNicely timed to coincide with my spring holiday, the Leeds Armoury is staging a week long Tudor event, the highlight being a War of the Roses joust.

"Back in the day the houses of York and Lancaster were sworn enemies, fighting over the rights of the English throne. Today this rivalry continues to be played out on the sports fields of our green and pleasant land but this May bank holiday Monday will see two teams take the feuding to a new level in a spectacular clash of knights on horseback. Let battle commence!"

Terrific stuff for all the family or if you just hapen to like the idea of heavily armed blokes bashing each other with blunt instruments - and let's face it, who doesn't? The week of events begins on the 25th of May. The joust is on Sunday 26th.
