3D drawing of AK74M - Part 5

This project is going a lot slower than I ever thought it would, as I seem to only get a couple of free hours at a time at the weekends to work on it. Still, it's interesting stuff, and every part of the overall assembly is an incredibly intricate mechanism which is a joy to model.

Take the rear sight, which I have modelled this week. In weapon terms it's a fairly simple design, as you would expect from a Russian arm, but from a modelling point of view it's a nice collection of parts which really give you something to get your teeth into.

As usual, I have somewhat simplified certain aspects while trying to remain true to the overall feel of the mechanism. The dimensions are based on my airsoft replica of the AK-74M, so any error in proportions made in this replica are reflected in my design - but I think it's close enough to be a fair representation.
