SketchUp 3D Ak74M model - screenshot 6

Quite a while ago I started a 3D AK74M modelling project - see above - but, to cut a long story short, I lost the original files for that model and lost heart with the project. Well, after a suitable length of time having passed I now feel up to starting a similar 3D project once again...

This time though I thought I would create a slightly different variant of the AK74 series - and have based my model on my trusty Kalash AK74U (which visitors to this blog should be very familiar with by now).

SO I started getting into this model yesterday and here's what I have so far...

3D model AK74U - front sight (front)

AK74U 3D model - barrel assembley

I find this kind of artwork creation very relaxing. Next I will be modelling teh 'wooden' fore grip before starting on the reciever itself. The software I use for this is Google's *free* SketchUp.

Great drawings, would be cool if you could incorporate them into a 'How To' manual, say....for changing a hopup unit in an AK47, etc..
