How do you make a Land Rover better?

Posted on Wed, January 6, 2010 by Registered CommenterMilgeek in , , | CommentsPost a Comment

I am not one of those people that thinks Land Rovers should be totally withdrawn from front-line use. The Landy is a workhorse of the British Army and it's simple not practical to equip everyone with bigger and more heavily armed armoured vehicles. Mobility is - after all - am important defensive advantage.

But with the Daily Telegraph running with a story that half the British military vehicles in Afghanistan are (quote) 'Unfit for Operations' how can the MoD supply enough effective protected vehicles with good enough mobility without breaking the bank?

Take a look at the Israeli 'David' ULAV...(Roll-over image to bring up play controls)...

Thanks to Rogue Gunner Blog for putting me on to this. Check out further information about the 'David' at the Double Tapper Blog: The David Combat Vehicle
